The Association of Veterinary Acupuncturists of Canada and the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association are happy to announce the next Canadian International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) affiliated Basic Veterinary Acupuncture Course to be held in 2007/2008. This is a “post graduate” course for practicing veterinarians. The program is comprised of four sessions, each consisting of five days of lectures and labs, followed by the IVAS written and practical examinations, including canine, equine and a limited amount of bovine components. The first session will take place in Banff, Alberta and the remaining three sessions and the examination will take place in Edmonton.

Internationally recognized leaders in the field of veterinary acupuncture will present the course and participants must be licensed veterinarians in good standing. Following the 120 hour course, students are required to complete a written and practical examination, a 40 hour internship and a case report.

In order to maintain an intimate and effective learning environment, course enrolment will be limited to 70 students. A highly qualified team of teaching assistants will be available at both the lecture and wet lab sessions.
